I have beautiful Japanese ceramic tiles from my artist friend from Kyoto.
This iPad clutch is the first piece in my collection, “Pockets in Knitwear“. Inspired by vintage fashion, I explored pocket construction in the design of knitwear. The materials that I used for my iPad purse: Chunky cotton yarn, fabric for lining and Ceramic tiles.
I crafted the clutch in a simple stockinette stitch. The lining is made of cotton fabric to match the clutch’s shape for a perfect fit. The Japanese ceramic tiles were placed with strong glue to the front of the bag. To create a crackled effect I stitched over each tile with colorful contrast thread. Once the tiles were secure, I stitched the seams and added a zipper closure for a polished look. The top stitch embroidery added to both sides of the clutch for extra details.
Now, my hand knitted iPad clutch is ready for travel! This project combines knitwear design with original unique textures, making it both practical and beautiful. Visit our New page for more.
