Born and raised in St.Petersburg—the city of White Nights, Galina Carroll's early life was influenced by the historic art and architecture that surrounded her. Today, everything in her work and life continues to resonate the influence of Russian tradition and culture.

Having studied at the Academy of Art and Industrial Design of V.Muchina, Galina graduated with a degree in Industrial Design. With that solid background she decided to make a career change. She delved into her true passion, the world of fashion. Her first knitwear collection created with a friend was displayed in Hamburg and Paris.

After a trip to New York in 1991 Galina’s life changed dramatically when she met and married the love of her life. Leaving her life in Russia and inspired by the freedom and excitement of America, she developed and exhibited her first collection in the CASE Museum in Jersey City, NJ.

She has a true passion for constructivism and historical avant-garde as a result of her earlier career in industrial design. Clean-cut geometric fantasies intertwined with elements of nature— organic curved lines and arches are to be found throughout her designs.

Galina's unique approach to fashion was quickly recognized. She has worked as a fulltime and freelance sweater designer for many years. Her resume includes a list of fashion houses such as Ralph Lauren, Donna Karan, Liz Claiborne, Tommy Hilfiger, and companies such as Gap, Anthropology, Abercrombie & Fitch, Item Eyes, Kikit, Kay Unger of New York, Lucy Barnes, Duckie Brown, Icelandic Design and others. Her work has been featured in Vogue Knitting, Knit 1, Knit It, Knit Simple, Noro, Debbie Bliss and Rowan magazines, as well as various publications by Lion Brand Yarns.
