Knitwear Innovation: Signature Details and Functional Fashion

Share and Tell: Knitwear and signature details

GalinaCarrollDesigns for the Share and Tell event at the Arts Center at Duck Creek Sunday, June 8th. The fun kicks off at 11:30 AM and wraps up at 1:00 PM—short, sweet and packed with creativity!

I’m thrilled to be part of this vibrant event highlights of the Long Island artists. I’ll be sharing a video presentation featuring a mix of my knitwear, fashion sketches and signature details. Think: fun sweaters, cozy stitches, bold shapes and yes—lots of pockets. All my knits have signature details.

In this video:

  • Pieces of knitwear created for an exhibition in Kyoto, Japan
  • Signature designs published in knitting magazines
  • Collaborations with yarn companies and publishers, sweaters and accessories

My signature details in each collection showcases : glove-pockets. Why? Because I’m deeply, unapologetically obsessed with pockets. Functional fashion, folks!

I have received a grant this January, thank you, Long Island Grants for the Arts! I’ve been knitting up my newest line of knitwear and accessories Pockets in Knitwear. Some sneak peeks made it into the video—don’t blink!

This work is supported by Long Island Grants for the Arts through funds provided by the office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature, and administered by The Huntington Arts Council.

Come for the art, stay for the stitches and let’s talk pockets. Follow the news for more projects of knitwear and signature details!
